Doug Fox has more than 15 years of experience engaging school districts through his work with YMCAs in San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas and now Fort Worth.  It is Doug’s belief that there is a solution to every challenge we face with our children today – and that bringing individuals from various background together is the very best way to create positive change.  In fact, he tells groups, “You can’t just look out of the box – sometimes you need to go outside the building where the box is kept to find viable solutions to difficult problems.”

Doug and his teams have worked closely with local school districts to collaborate on programs that impact critical issues such as early learning readiness, childhood obesity, summer learning loss and at-risk teens.  While with the Irving YMCA, his team developed Play & Learn, a program designed to better prepare ALL Children for success upon entering kindergarten while also empowering parents and caregivers to better support and advocate for their children.  Doug was also instrumental in bringing other CBOs and business leaders together in a grass-roots effort to ensure that 5000 children would have needed school supplies prior to beginning school each fall.

In 2014 Doug pulled a group of community leaders together to develop a program to reduce the recidivism (86%) for high school students who spent time in the district’s reassignment center. After four sessions only 2 of 60 participants (3%) ended up back at the reassignment center. Doug is an excellent convener and has the ability to develop effective and efficient collaborations that ultimately support local school district goals for improving the lives of all children.  Doug is an excellent public speaker who inspires audiences to find ways that they too can make a difference in their local community.
